Class Experience

Come with me, let's go down on the farm! This class will teach learners about the many different things that happen on a farm! Through songs, games, and a craft we will learn about different farm animals, buildings and crops! We will discuss the importance of farmers and what they do.

Class will start with each student introducing themselves. The student can bring one farm-related show and tell item that they will have a chance to share during this time. We will then move into a Canva presentation about what we find on a farm! We will also play a farm animal guessing game where I give clues about a farm animal to help the learners figure out what animal I am thinking of. To get our wiggles out we will do some farm animal action cards where we move and sound like different farm animals followed by singing Old MacDonald Had a Farm!

We will wrap up class by making our own paper plate pig craft!

**Please note - this class is listed as a 30 minute class. This class may run a few minutes over depending on how long the craft portion takes.

Parental Guidance
Please make sure your learner has adequate space to move safely during our animal action cards. While the activities will be light, students may want to stretch and have water with them. The class will include a presentation on Canva to show pictures of different farm animals, buildings and crops. Students do not need an account or need to do anything to access it - I will share the presentation through screen share. Students will need to use basic craft supplies to make their pig craft (paint, scissors, pencil, glue). Parental guidance is advised while using these items.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Lauren and I am excited to be teaching here on Outschool! I am looking forward to teaching early childhood development classes - preschool math, literacy, social skills and more! I have worked with children/students of all ages. My primary focus is with young children as I have a bachelors degree in elementary education (prek - 4th) which I obtained through Grand Canyon University. I have spent the last 10 years working in an early childhood development center, primarily working with children ages 2-4. During these last 10 years I have developed and implemented curriculum across many content areas. Aside from teaching, I am a color guard instructor at both the middle and high school levels.

I think learning is all about having fun, especially with the younger children! My experience of running an early childhood classroom will aide me in providing fun and engaging lessons here on Outschool as well!

When I am not coaching or teaching, I am busy being a wife and a mom! My husband and I have a seven year old son who is currently in second grade and an infant daughter. My older son is very involved in sports, which means I am too! I also enjoy reading, journaling, and watching tv.

I look forward to meeting and working with many young children on this journey!
