Class Experience

**don't see a time that works for you? make a request!**

Learn how to up your doodle drawing game with cute Among Us Crewmates!

Artists will learn how to fill their entire paper with doodles of Crewmates. Artists will also learn how to add simple hats to their Crewmates.

This class will start with learning how to draw Crewmates and hats using simple shapes (circles, triangles, etc.) with a pencil.
Then, together we will go over our drawings with a fine point ink pen (I will be using my Pigma Micron Pen).
Final touches will be made using color pencils.
During the color segment of this class, we will chat about the game Among Us, as well as other video games if time permits!
After all the characters are complete, we will continue to doodle more characters as time allows.

At the end of our class time, students will be able to show off their doodle art with the rest of the class.

**Art Classes with 3 or more students will have the students muted ONLY during instruction time to avoid background noise. And of course, they will be unmuted for their own questions/comments AND, most importantly, during color time so we can discuss ALL things Among Us!
I always strive to create safe and comfortable environments for student artists and I want to be sure they never miss a step or feel discouraged for not hearing any directions. Shy students are not required to have their cameras on, however, they will need to come to class 2 minutes before the start of the class to say hello with their cameras on.

Parental Guidance
Learners are not required to have played the game for this class. There is some cartoon violence in the game (including the words "kill" and "murder"), however, this class simply focuses on drawing doodles of the Crewmates and will not include blood, violence, or weapons. Please contact me directly if you have any questions. Please let me know of any accommodations I can do ahead of time for your learner. I strive to create a safe and encouraging space for all learners. If your learner finds it difficult to think of good things to say about their art or themselves, gently drop in suggestions.

Hi, I'm Teacher Monica (they/them) - a musician and artist. I am passionate about teaching, traveling the world, and creating art.

Currently I'm a middle and high school choir and fine art teacher at a Waldorf school, but I also have experience with teaching early elementary aged learners in private and small group music and art classes.

As an experienced educator, I believe that every child can become a musician and artist. All learners deserve a well-planned, differentiated arts education. I am an energetic and passionate teacher and do my absolute best to model to my students so they have an example of what having a passion for learning and creating art or music looks like.

I have been teaching music for 20 years and received my Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 2014. This helped me achieve a firm grasp on the art of teaching music in both a group or private lesson setting. I also learned so many tools on how to study, read, and analyze music, which helps me guide my students into being confident performers and analyzers of their pieces.

    Fun facts:
I have three cats named Atoka, Calcifer, and Bagels.
I have a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
