Anxiety can be crippling for teenagers. Having the opportunity to share their worries with others and find strength in unity can be profoundly helpful for young people as they grow. In this course, we will focus on learning how and why worry happens and developing coping strategies that will help alleviate the symptoms of participants. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (mental health practitioner), experienced with therapeutic intervention with children and teens in multiple private and group settings.
I highly recommend the Anxiety Workbook for Teens, by Lisa M. Schab, LCSW to use with this class. This journal-style workbook is not required, but will help students gain the most from this class. I will list the exercises that students using this book should do each week to correlate to our classwork.

However, I will provide resources and make recommendations for treatment if a child is experiencing difficulties beyond the scope of this class.
