In this one time course, learners will be participating in a yoga class with their dog! The class will begin with an introduction of ourselves and our pups. We will also discuss our focus topic of the day. We will follow-up our introductions by providing our dogs with a massage and add in light stretches for ourselves. Then, we will move into several unique yoga poses that will incorporate our dogs. We will end the class with Shavasana, or final relaxation. Before we leave, we will give our pups a final massage and share our messages of gratitude.
Learning Goals
In this class, learners will become well versed in yoga terminology and yoga poses. In addition, students will learn to follow instructions and provide teachings to their dog!
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Students will need an open workout space, footwear is not required (socks or bare feet is fine), and a water bottle (optional). Injuries can occur if stretches or exercises are not done correctly. Students are advised to listen closely to the teacher's instructions.
Supply List
You will need: your dog, a yoga mat, and a tennis ball.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hi! My name is Kristy Burgess! I teach a variety of classes involving positive thinking, leadership, yoga, and fitness! I earned both my Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Education (M. Ed) degree from the University of Michigan and have been a teacher for 15 years in Michigan; teaching 7-12 grades. Most recently, I have spent the past 4 years teaching 8th grade! I believe the most important thing about learning is to ENJOY it! I love seeing children excited about learning and engaged in the process! I am a firm believer that all students need their voices to be heard and I love seeing students proud of the work they have accomplished!! On a personal note, I am a sports junky! I love to watch and play sports and I am also a dog lover! I have two Golden Retrievers!!! Hank is our oldest and he is 5, and Sam is our crazy young guy; who is 1!!!
