Class Experience

This course is an introduction to fractions or could serve as a review of basic fractions. It will serve as a fun way to help your child develop a foundation in fractions while they create art. During the session, instruction will be provided on how to divide a whole into equal parts, name the parts, and create a picture using fraction pieces. The focus will be on halves, fourths, and eighths. Students do not need any background knowledge of fractions but do need to be able to fold paper and use glue and scissors.

Even though this is listed as a camp, your child can do these in any order and pick and choose which ones they would like to do.

This class is a little bit of math mixed with art. If your child doesn't know anything about fractions, it is okay. We will discuss fractional parts as we create our pictures.

Take a look at my other classes because I have many more like this one. I am a math intervention teacher and use fraction art in my classroom to help my students understand fractions. They LOVE fraction art!
