1 hour per week. Students will be given practice problems that we will review in the second class to clarify and correct any errors.Assessment
Teacher will review homework for errors and provide feedback on how to correct. The teacher will also informally assess students during the first class for understanding of the concept.Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 6
Students will learn how to perform long division by using mnemonic devices and song recall. A song will be shared with students, so that they can create their own physical movements to improve recall of the steps for long division. A mnemonic device will also be used to help students self guide through the division process. The teacher will then explain the process of long division, and how to solve using the mnemonic device and the song, both using a check list. This skill is introduced in 4th grade but is a struggle for many scholars. This class may also be used to fill gaps for learners in higher grade levels. Prerequisite knowledge: multiplication facts *If knowledge of multiplication facts are not solidified, a student may use a fact chart to aid in the division process.
