In this one-time class, you will learn the meaning of common homophones by correcting "MEME" inspired photos. We will begin the class with a brief overview of homophones. Homophones are words that sound the same, but are spelled differently and have different meanings. For example: (here/hear, right/write, buy/by/bye, to/two/too). Learning how to use homophones appropriately will not only help you to easily convey your message, but will also help you learn to spell words correctly. You will communicate your answers via whiteboard/marker or by typing in the chat box. After each slide, we will orally discuss, and defend, our responses. NOTE: Sections with no enrollments 15 minutes prior to the start of class will be cancelled.
Learning Goals
In this one-time class, you will learn/practice the meaning of common homophones by correcting "MEME" inspired photos!
The class will begin with a brief overview of figurative language such as: homophones, which are words that sound the same but are spelled differently and have different meanings (e.g. here/hear, right/write, buy/by/bye, to/two/too).
💡 Proper use of figurative language will help you better comprehend what you read and make your writing more engaging.

I love teaching students how to learn! My goal as a teacher is to help students not only learn material, but to develop a love of learning as well. I understand that every learner is unique, so I strive provide meet them where they are. I focus on helping students learn content while incorporating important life skills such as: communication, problem solving, creative thinking and social skills. My teaching style is very learner-led!
Please note that all of my classes are ESL and neuro-divergent friendly. I strive to provide inclusive classes in which learners of all abilities are welcome. Feel free to contact me prior to class with any accommodation requests.
