Class Experience

Disney parks are renowned worldwide, not only for their attractions, shows, parades, fireworks, and resort hotels...but for the food! A trip to Adventureland just isn't complete without a refreshing and delicious Dole Whip. This frozen pineapple dessert is one of the most iconic Disney treats that exists. Did you know you can make one yourself?

In this one-time course, join me in my kitchen and I will teach you how to create this yourself! After introductions, I will review kitchen safety, and basics of measuring and food prepping; then, we will go step by step to create this classic treat.

This course will include a history of the Dole Whip in the parks, as well as question and answer time for students to share their favorite Disney treats. I put importance on teacher-student interaction so you will have ample time to contribute to class!

Learning Goals

Students will learn proper food measuring and food preparation and will use these skills to create a classic Disney recipe.

Parental Guidance

Special Notes for Parents: 1. This recipe is vegan as well as gluten free. However, as an allergy/dietary needs disclaimer, this recipe does use ingredients containing coconut, banana, and pineapple. 2. This recipe requires the use of a dull knife as well as a blender. Students are encouraged to have parental supervision around the use of sharp blades.

A one-page handout will be given to each student prior to the beginning of class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello! My name is Allie and I’m so happy to bring my expertise and passions to your children! 

My professional background is in music. I’m a saxophonist and a vocalist and have two degrees in music. And while I will absolutely be teaching fun music courses on Outschool, I’m also excited to bring some of my other passions, specifically: upcycling, eco friendly fashion, Disney and Disney parks, and cooking/food prep. 

I believe that the best learning is when it doesn’t feel academic at all. And while I’ll bring academic resources to tie into all my classes, the focus will be on having so much fun that your child wants to come back for more.

A little about me: I am a life long musician who is passionate about the importance of the arts in our lives. I’m a roller skater and a distance runner with several half marathons under my belt. I’m a Disney fanatic and an expert in Disney parks. I have 3 cats and I’m happily married.
