Beginner Level
In this fun, ongoing 4 week course, students will get to learn about different animals from the Disgusting Critters Series by Elise Gravel. Animals include the fly, the bat, the spider, the rat, the toad, the slug, the worm, and head lice. We will meet twice a week to read a book on a particular "Disgusting Critter." The students will also get to play an interactive game, watch a short video about our animal, and then do a directed-drawing. This class is great for students who love animals or for children who just want to know more about a specific "Disgusting Critter." Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I'm Teacher Shannon! I have taught 2nd grade for 24 years. I've taught both Gifted and Regular Education. I was a substitute teacher for 2 years working with Early Childhood students as well as older elementary students. My passion is reading! I love Children's Literature and I have even co-taught college level students on "What's New In Children's LIterature?" for the last 10 years. What drives me as a teacher is to have a fun, safe, interactive classroom while embracing lots of quality literature. I want kids to love reading as much as I do and to have fun learning! And maybe make a craft or two along the way!
