We will use maps to learn about Thailand and compare aspects such as continent/hemisphere/climate/culture to the country each student lives in.

The students will have access to a world map they can download and print out. During class we will locate Thailand on the map and then discuss its location in concerns with Continent, Hemisphere, coastal or land locked. We will also discuss climate, culture, language and food. We will use this information to do a brief comparison to the country the students live in. The students can make a mark on their map after "visiting" Thailand. This can be a one time class if there is a specific country of interest or an ongoing adventure discovering many countries over a number of weeks. In this class we will focus on Thailand, a country I have visited and lived in while teaching scuba diving.
Learning Goals
The students will learn the different continents, how seasons are affected by the different hemispheres as well as gain insight into different cultures to foster a better understanding of the world.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have traveled throughout Thailand and lived there on 2 separate occasions for a period of 3mths and 7mths. I trained and became a scuba diving instructor during my time there and worked on the island of Koh Phangan.
