Please be aware this listing is for a FLEX class and no live meetings will be held! Please visit my profile if you're interested in attending live classes! Did you know it's possible to shape your child's taste in music? A study from Deezer, a global music streaming service, suggests that the ideal time to introduce a child to diverse music is before they turn ten. The research found that 82% of parents observed positive responses from their kids when exposed to new music at a young age. However, after turning ten, this positive reaction decreased significantly to only 11%. What does this research mean for music education? It indicates that early exposure can have a lasting impact on a child's musical preferences. This FLEX class has been crafted to expose learners in this important age range to a wide variety of musical genres. Each week students will learn about 1-2 new musical genres through videotaped lessons, discussion prompts, and singing or rhythmic activities. The overarching goal of this class is to expose the learners to new musical genres and expand their musical palette. 🍎What will be taught ➞ Week 1: Class Overview & Introduction to Musical Genres ➞ Week 2: Folk & Country Music ➞ Week 3: Rock Music ➞ Week 4: Pop Music ➞ Week 5: Jazz & Blues Music ➞ Week 6: Hip-Hop & R&B Music ➞ Week 7: Reggae Music ➞ Week 8: Latin & K-Pop Music ➞ Week 9: Disco & Funk Music ➞ Week 10: Techno & EDM Music ➞ Week 11: Classical Music ➞ Week 12: New Age Music 🎶 Class Structure This class follows a FLEXible, self-paced format, and there won't be any live meetings.
