In this class students will learn directing for animated film. We will take a deep dive into the art of storyboarding to communicate story ideas. Have you ever heard the phrase a picture is worth a thousand words? Well that couldn't be more true for the movies- especially animated film! Storyboards are used to create the idea of the story before production of the movie takes place. A great director is a great communicator, and students will learn key elements to communicate their story ideas...
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn cinematography and storyboard techniques to communicate story ideas. -what makes a good storyboard artist -what is visual language -what is cinematography: camera angles, movement, framing, and staging -what are the key elements to storyboarding: line, shape, space, color, movement, and tone -how to be a great storyboard artist if you are not very good at drawing
-Home work is optional but students will be encouraged try storyboarding a scene or sequence
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 5 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
