In this class, we will learn the definition of direct and indirect objects. More importantly, we will learn how to identify them in a sentence. Not all sentences contain these, so which ones do? Easy ways to identify these terms will be taught. For instance, you cannot have an indirect object if there is no direct object. And a sentence will not have a direct object unless there is an action verb! So, if we understand that, finding the direct object and knowing the hints of asking the right questions to identify the direct object, makes the process easy! And if there is a direct object, then we can then search and see if there is an indirect object. As a class, we will then look at sentences and classify them for these terms. I teach in a relaxed manner. The class has the most benefit if you learner is willing to try to participate in finding the direct object and indirect object in a the practice sentences. Class Rules: We mute so we do not talk over each other, we are kind and respectful to everyone, and we raise our hand if we have a question or comment.
A summary sheet of how to identify and locate these terms will be posted in the classroom.
