Class Experience

In this one time class, learners will practice number recognition up to 10 and work on basic math skills by adding single digit numbers together, as well as solving problems and writing numbers.
We will discuss the math terms used in equations, such as plus and equals. Learners will have an understanding of the symbols '+' and '=' and when we decide if its an addition problem, using terms 'in all/total/together'. A parent should be present to assist with writing numbers if needed.
This class is a themed dinsoaur math class, and learners are encouraged to bring their dino friends or toys to use in class. We will have time to share our favorite dinosaurs at the end of class to practice socialization skills! See you on the wild side! ROAR!
*Learners should have some experience with tracing or writing. Advanced three year olds are welcome with assistance*

👋 Hello! My name is Amber! I am so excited that you stopped by my Outschool profile! I look forward to seeing your child in one of my classes!
A little about me....
👩‍🎓 In 2015, I received a masters degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology. I worked at several positions within the Criminal Justice field but after having my three children (all boys), I had a change of heart! I realized I had a passion for being in the classroom and changing the lives of young learners!
I became an online ESL teacher five years ago, teaching English to children of all ages, and I hold two Tesol certificates.
📒✏ I have classroom experience in grades K-5th as I was an elementary substitute teacher for three years and a kindergarten teacher for the last two years!
I aim for my students to have fun while learning in a structured and welcoming atmosphere. I work to encourage students to build their confidence by speaking to their peers and sharing their ideas.
🌎🏖 In my free time, I enjoy traveling and creating memories with my family, which includes three boys (ages 16, 7, and 5). We enjoy spending time at the beach, pool, and amusement parks!
Thanks for visiting my profile! I look forward to meeting your child in my classroom soon! 👋
**Note: My refund policy is aligned with Outschool's policy, and I may accommodate a one time transfer if notice is given by the parent at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled class, into a new class held within the next 30 days.*
*I prefer not using the mute button in my classroom unless absolutely necessary. It's important for learners to learn to listen, follow directions, and take turns speaking. Expectations are provided at the start of class, and learners are reminded of the rules throughout class to continue working on these skills. *Background noise is not included in this as it may cause a serious distraction.
