Class Experience

This is a hands-on, very interactive class. Students will be encouraged to share ideas and building techniques with each other. In class, I will foster an environment that supports creativity, problem solving, positivity, and a growth mindset. During this one time class, I will narrate a Dinosaur Adventure story. Through the roll of the dice and flip of a building brick, the adventure will unfold. Builders will use their building bricks to create solutions to obstacles that they encounter on their journey.

Throughout class, we will talk about different obstacles that we face in the location. Students will brainstorm solutions for those obstacles and build the solution that they want to use out of their bricks. Students will share their creations with peers. Sometimes, we will all face the same obstacles. Sometimes, we will individually face different obstacles. It is always exciting to hear builders share their clever building solutions.

Some of the classes that I offer encourage students to create one build during class. In this class, students will build many small solutions to obstacles and events. It is a fast paced, game-like building class.

*At the end of class, I will post more of the adventure in the classroom so builders can keep the adventure going at home. The goal is not to complete all of the challenges in class but to build through our adventure at a pace that works for each group of learners and for them to have access to more challenges after class as well. I hope they feel inspired to keep building and perhaps to create their own building adventure stories at home.

I also offer an ongoing version of this class that meets weekly. In the ongoing class, we travel to a different location for our adventure each week. I also offer other one-time building adventure and escape room classes along with some building adventure camps.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Families,
My name is Danielle Day. I have a passion for inspiring young learners! I have a degree in Elementary Education. I have taught in both homeschool and public elementary school settings over the the last 18 years. I have also taught ESL online. Aside from teaching, I have coached basketball and a Building Brick League Team. I think learning should be authentic, engaging, and fun! My husband and I have 3 sons. As a family, we enjoy playing games, reading, riding our bikes, building with building bricks, and exploring nature.

- If you do not see dates listed for a class, that does not mean that I'm no long teaching the class or that it isn't awesome. It just means that right now, I have more class ideas than available hours in the day. I try to balance opening a variety of classes and leaving myself some time to be able to accommodate requested classes. Please never hesitate to send me a message requesting that I open more sessions of a class!

I hope to meet your learner(s) in class soon!
Have a great day,
Mrs. Day
