What's included
3 live meetings
2 in-class hoursAssessment
A brief, 3-question "exit slip" will be given at the end of each course. I will relay their scores to the parents and offer follow-up guidance if they did not do very well.Class Experience
-In this course, students will learn the types of dinosaurs (herbivores and carnivores) and how to identify dinosaurs based on physical features. Students will also learn the job of a paleontologist and what kinds of fossils we can find. They will learn the value of fossils and what we can learn from them. In the final class of this course, students will get to review what we have learned and create their own dinosaurs. They will use what we have been taught to teach us all about their dinosaurs. -Class will begin with introductions, questions to access prior knowledge, and then we will jump in to about 10 minutes of direct-instruction. After that, the class will be very engaging by using games, questions, and activities. -I will spend about 15 minutes of the class accessing prior knowledge and then instructing. Then I will lead activities and games for the class to practice the lesson we have just learned. -My teaching style very much revolves around the kids I am working with. If I can tell the kids really are excited and want to share, I make som extra time for that in our classes. If they are struggling to grasp a topic, I will approach it in a different manner to make sure they fully understand before moving on. -During the course, students will get to interact with me and the other students for a large portion of each class. We will also be engaged in learning games, video clips, and follow through a fun slides presentation that will definitely keep them engaged.
Learning Goals
-Students will be able to teach others about herbivores and carnivores.
-Students will be able to identify if a dinosaur was a plant eater or meat eater based on physical appearance.

Parental Guidance
While nothing in this course has any intentional "scary" moments, in my experience, some students do not like learning that meat eating dinosaurs would eat other dinosaurs. There will be non-graphic images of meat eaters with sharp teeth.
Supply List
For the third class in this course, students will need paper, pencils, crayons, markers, and construction paper (optional). Students will be provided optional coloring pages to complete while learning as well.
