In this course, learners will read a text in English to cultivate English reading skills and English language proficiency through skimming, scanning, and deep reading. Students will use English to then express their ideas and opinions.

Intermediate Level
In this class, learners will learn and use the reading skills of skimming, scanning, and deep reading to read a story in English. Learners will use these reading skills to develop English communicative proficiency, learn new vocabulary through context, and extract information. Through PowerPoint instruction, videos, examples, prompts, and activities, students will read and discuss a story, complete activities confirming comprehension, and use English to connect the story and its themes with their own lives and culture. The skills cultivated in this class will help students in real-world situations when reading English is important, when giving opinions on things that have been read, and when using English to speak about life and culture.

I am an exciting English teacher with much experience teaching English both online and in person around the world. Most recently, I have finished teaching as an adjunct Professor of both English Reading and Writing and English Speaking and Listening at LaGuardia Community College (A1-B2). In the past, I was an English teacher at a bilingual primary school in Spain. I also worked at various primary, secondary, and private schools teaching English in Italy. In addition, I taught English to adults at Rennert Language School in New York City, and I hold a TEFL Certification and a Bachelor's Degree in Adolescence Education.
