My passion for teaching graphic design, film, life-skills, and writing courses stems from my desire to help students discover their voices. As a communications strategist, I bring brands' stories to life through unique Canva designs, visual images, and marketing strategies. What sets my classes apart is the emphasis on the beauty of marketing and communication principles through Canva designs and the unique perspective I bring from my background in social media marketing and advertising, as well as my love for film and writing!
I teach Canva classes, film studies classes, college prep classes, life-skill classes, writing classes, and more. I have a background in social media marketing, advertising, public speaking, leadership, and communication. I hold a bachelor's degree in Communication and a master's degree in Strategic Communication. I have a passion for the film industry. I love teaching and working with the youth. There are many outstanding young communicators, writers, and artists worldwide.
I love academia and teaching college, high school, jr. high, and elementary school courses. Currently, I teach Interpersonal Communication to undergraduates, and I'm pursuing research in social media and media studies. My teaching philosophy is to inspire learners and help them find their love for writing and design. I create lessons that are taught through videos, readings, and lectures. My lessons strive to allow learners to participate in activities they enjoy and learn new things. For example, my film classes let learners watch some of their favorite shows and then write about them. Giving them a place to practice their writing while watching TV or movies.
In my free time, I research, watch, and analyze films and TV shows. What we watch impacts the way we communicate and design, and it helps inspire us to design trending images that will connect with our consumers. I have always loved watching TV and movies. When I was learning how to read, my parents noticed that it was a challenge for me, so when I was watching TV, they would turn off the audio, and I would have to read the captions. That is where my love for TV and movies came from. I noticed that there was so much to learn about making a movie.
I'm excited to be teaching with Outschool and hope to see you in my classes! If you don't see a class you want or a time you need, send me a message, and let's try to work something out.
