Students will come up with a problem in their house or communities that can be solved using interactive media. They will define this problem, have informal interviews with the prospective 'users', design a solution, create a prototype and test this prototype. Students will be encouraged to walk through all the steps of the iterative engineering design cycle - which includes brainstorming, problem identification, concept design, prototyping and testing. The weekly schedule will be as...
Some tasks will need to be completed outside of schedule time. For example, students might want to interview target users.
A suggested list of interface design tools will be provided on the first day (examples include Invision, Figma, etc.). These will not be required until the prototyping stage (Week 3).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
