Homework Offered
Assessments Offered
In Dance we consistently use Formative assessment as a means to check for understanding throughout the class to make sure all students are utilizing the correct arm, placement, and foot patterning for the assigned movement. This assessment can be as simple as watching the students execute the choreography and provide feedback or asking 'fill in the blank' questions in class to identify learning gaps in the teaching process. All formative assessments will be done in class and required for all participating students.Grades Offered
Previous Dance experience is optional.
This is a movement based class so students should be in a space that is free and clear of clutter to prevent injuries, wear comfortable clothing, and be equipped with a water bottle. Based on the class space, usage of footwear is optional at the discretion of the family and flooring of the space. Each class includes a warm up and stretch section so doing so beforehand isn't necessary. Parental supervision is advised as injuries can occur when engaging in physical activity courses.
