In this on-going class, we will be making art using many different methods. We will be creating unique pieces of art and, in some classes, we will be making art using famous artists as our inspiration. Each class will require different supplies. Please make sure that you have the supplies needed or your child won't be able to experience the class in its intended way. Learners will be guided through the art lesson and will be able to add their unique style to the project. The class length may vary at times based on the art lesson. I will attempt to stay as close to 45 minutes as possible, however some classes might run a little over. 6/6: Chalk Pastel Tulip Art Supplies needed: Chalk pastels Black drawing paper, pastel paper, or black construction paper Paper towels, wet wipes, or a towel to wipe fingers on (chalk pastels tend to be very messy!) 6/13: Artist Focus: Wassily Kandinsky Supplies needed: Black pastel paper, black cardstock, or black construction paper Chalk pastels Pencil Paper towels, wet wipes, or a towel to wipe fingers on (chalk pastels tend to be very messy!) 6/20: Artist Focus: Georges Seurat and Pointillism Supplies needed: Q-tips White paper, cardstock, canvas, or even the back of a cereal box cut (with no writing on the inside) Paint Paper Plate or Paint Palette 6/27: Jellyfish Chalk Pastel Art Supplies needed: Chalk pastels Black drawing paper, black construction paper, or black pastel paper Paper towels, wet wipes, or a towel to wipe fingers on (chalk pastels tend to be very messy!) Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in History from Grand Canyon University
Hello! My name is Tracy. From ESL to social clubs and creative writing, I offer many different classes that are fun and allow for learning without pressure and stress! Academic success has always been important to me. I was the valedictorian of my high school graduating class and I graduated from Grand Canyon University, cum laude. I have 16 years of teaching experience. I taught a private school before starting a family of my own. I have taught every subject, from ESL to math and physics! I’ve taught ages from 3 to 18 years old.
Learning is important, but it's difficult to learn when you are stressed, struggling, or overwhelmed. I strive to make my classes fun so learning is easy.
As a mother of five, I understand that every child is different and they each have a learning style that works best for them. Because I have homeschooled all five of my children since the beginning of their schooling, I have seen the different ways children learn and know the importance of making learning enjoyable . I adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of the student.
I look forward to our classtime!
