Class Experience

This class is dedicated to fostering crucial public speaking and debate skills, with a special emphasis on harnessing the unique strengths of neurodivergent students.


Each week we will introduce a different subject for debate and work on a specific social skill. 



This class creates a supportive environment, valuing each participant's unique strengths.
We utilize visual aids considering diverse sensory preferences.

The class will include:

Fostering critical thinking skills
Overcoming anxiety through practical techniques
Encouraging self-expression and individuality, honoring neurodivergent strengths
Engaging in friendly debates on age-appropriate topics
Fostering teamwork and respect for differing opinions
Developing active listening skills 
Practicing empathetic responding and constructive feedback
Cultivating understanding and open-mindedness

A variety of social skills will be worked on during conversations in class that are prompted by the teacher. 

Sample Schedule:

Week of December 3 - Introduction to basic communication concepts through fun games and activities

Week of December 10 - Building communication skills through personal expression

Week of December 17 - Building confidence and overcoming stage fright

Week of December 24 - Age-appropriate debates and discussions fostering teamwork
