Dark History: Serial Killers
Class Experience
US Grade 8 - 11
Do you love a scary story? Do you binge watch shows about crime and investigation? This may be a great class for you. This is a class that will look into the stories of individual serial killers. We will learn about their backgrounds, history, careers, methods of operation and how they were caught (if they were). Parents, please be sure to read parental warning section prior to enrolling. Summer 2024: July 1-July Richard Ramirez July 8-14 Greenridge Killer July 15-21 ...
- Students will learn about the psychology behind serial killers and about some intriguing killers throughout history.
I have a degree in psychology and have been a rape counselor. The warnings in the parent section are very blatant and no one should not be aware of what to expect. I have degrees in psychology, sociology, philosophy, and criminal justice as well as over 20 years in the field.
This class will show: Dead bodies and videos. This class may discuss rape and molestation as this is often a common characteristic of these cases. This will not be graphic but generalized. "He would rape the victims" or "He would sexually molest" the victims. This class will be similar to watching a show like Criminal Minds or similar on tv where all of this is also discussed but at least in a class setting we can process it. There may be blood, some cursing, definitely murder, child abuse (most serial killers though not all are abuse victims), animal and human mutilations, lgbtq issues, alcohol or drug abuse, cannibalism. We will have ample opportunities to discuss and process each week. This class is not a good fit for all students.
