Description

Class Experience

From the inspiration behind books like Treasure Island to the inspiration for Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean... Pirates have played a big role in our world's history. Many of their stories are legendary! In this class, students will discover some of the secrets and mythic stories of the most famous pirates and sea lore. 

Topics to be covered:
- Edward Teach aka Blackbeard
- Blackbeard's Treasure
- Anne Bonny
- Calico Jack
- Captain Kidd
- Black Sam Bellamy
- Flying Dutchman
- Davy...

Students will learn about famous pirates in history and the legends that surround their stories.

I have taught history on sea mythology and pirate history to kids before. And I have a strong knowledge of this subject area from my degree.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

There will be a pop quiz at the end of class for learning comprehension

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

All violence and inappropriate or sensitive material has been censored or adapted to be age-appropriate. We will not discuss any types of sexual or extremely violent topics in this class.
