In this one-time class we will learn about dark energy. We will explore what we know about dark energy, what it is and how it shapes our universe. Learners will be introduced to important cosmological concepts such as spacetime, expansion, and the doppler effect. We will investigate questions such as: What is dark energy? How did we discover it? What is expansion? What was the Big Bang? What is the difference between dark matter and dark energy? How do we tell how quickly galaxies are moving? What is spacetime? The class is lecture and discussion based. Learners will view and participate in a presentation full of images and some videos. They will have the opportunity to ask questions and think critically about space!
