Assessment is informal in this drawing club, as the teacher makes sure young artists understand every step for each drawing.Class Experience
Each week in this fun, social drawing club, learners chat and draw super cute kawaii doodles. I share two pages of themed drawings every week to inspire us. Themes include animals, holidays, food, weather, and student interests. I encourage learners to draw with me and add their own creative touches. This Cute Drawing with Friends class is paced to draw many quick sketches, with some step-by-step directions, and plenty of chatting and laughing. Upcoming Classes: November 4-18: Cute Pirates November 11-15: Cute Fall Doodles November 18-22: Cute Sea Creatures November 25-29: Cozy and Hygee Doodles December 2-6: Cute Christmas Doodles December 9-13: Cute Winter & Winter Animal Doodles December 16-20: More Cute Christmas Doodles December 23-27: Cute Outer Space Doodles December 30-January 3: Cute New Year Doodles What to Expect in Each Class: Club meetings begin with introductions and greetings, and a quick share time. Then learners take turns choosing what they would like to draw from our pages of cute drawings. As we draw together, learners converse and share their work. During class, I use two cameras. The second camera is above my workspace so my hands and drawings are clearly visible. I pace the drawing for the students following along, and offer variations for different ability levels. Class wraps up with art sharing time and goodbyes. How Learners Will Interact: Each week’s class features lots of student discussion while we draw. Share time at the end of class gives each student an opportunity to share their work. After class, learners interact with one another by posting pictures of their artworks, and commenting on classmates’ works. I share a Positive Critique technique that gives students an easy way to talk with others about their projects. My Teaching Style: I am a compassionate teacher and I respect student artists’ varying skill levels and communication preferences. Learners may choose to engage in discussions, respond using chat, and/or share their artworks. Learners are encouraged to communicate in a way that is best for them. Art is all about individual expression!
