In this class, we will work together to create interactive notebooks to go alongside our journey through Early Modern History! Each class, we will put together the notebook pages for one chapter of the history book we have covered to-date. This is a purely supplemental, but fun, activity for students who would like to continue to learn and reinforce Early Modern History between semesters of Curiosity Chronicles: Early Modern History. This class will be very much round table discussion as we work together to decide correct answers to questions, and what we remember about each chapter. Our planned activities will cover the third twelve chapters of the text, from "England has a Glorious Revolution" to "The Three Way War for North America." The activities in this notebook will be provided for the student ahead of time. Students will be absolutely welcome to draw their own activities should they wish to (or if parents do not wish to print!). By the end of the year, we will have completed activities for all the chapters in the text, allowing for a fun and colorful review of each chapter of our learning, as well as a portfolio of what was covered in History this year! Our general class outline: Class 1: England Has a Glorious Revolution (Lift the flap book, assemble a Culture Corner envelope) Class 2: The Color Green is Banned in Ireland (Assemble a flip book) Class 3: The Ottoman’s Last Stab at Glory (assemble a lift the flap book) Class 4: Peter Looks West (assemble an accordion 'snake' about Peter the Great) Class 5: Osei Tutu Receives the Golden Stool (assemble a flip book) Class 6: The Growth of Chattel Slavery (assemble a envelope representing triangular trade with impacts to be kept inside) Class 7: Here There Be Pirates! (assemble a folder to keep famous pirates in) Class 8: Queen Nanny Defeats the British in Jamaica (assemble a lift the flap book) Class 9: How the First Global War Got Started (assemble a lift the flap chart) Class 10: The British Inch Into India (create a flower of facts) Class 11: Religious Fervor in the Colonies (create a lift the flap book, and an accordion project) Class 12: The Three Way War for North America (create a flower of facts)
