In this class, we will work together to create interactive notebooks to go alongside our journey through Early Modern History! Each class, we will put together the notebook pages for one chapter of the history book we have covered to-date. This is a purely supplemental, but fun, activity for students who would like to continue to learn and reinforce Early Modern History between semesters of Curiosity Chronicles: Early Modern History. This class will be very much round table discussion as we work together to decide correct answers to questions, and what we remember about each chapter. Our planned activities will cover the first twelve chapters of the text, from "England Picks a Religion" to "England Starts Colonizing for God and Gold." The activities in this notebook will be provided for the student ahead of time. Students will be absolutely welcome to draw their own activities should they wish to (or if parents do not wish to print!). By the end of the year, we will have completed activities for all the chapters in the text, allowing for a fun and colorful review of each chapter of our learning, as well as a portfolio of what was covered in History this year! Our general class outline: Class 1: England Picks a Religion (color, cut, and assemble a pull-out book) Class 2: Elizabeth Extends Her Reach (color, cut, and assemble a lift-the-flap book) Class 3: The Gold and Silver of the Spanish Main (color, cut, and assemble a pop-up book) Class 4: Spain Runs Out of Money (color, cut, and assemble an accordion 'book') Class 5: Russia Has A Terrible Time (color, cut, and assemble a lift-the-flap book) Class 6: Poland Creates the Golden Liberty (color, cut, and assemble a lift-the-petals flower) Class 7: Esfahan Is Half the World (color, cut, and assemble a lift-the-flap book) Class 8: The Taj Mahal Rises In India (color, cut, and assemble a lift-the-flap book and a collection of information about Sikhism) Class 9: Admiral Yi Saves Korea (color, cut, and assemble a lift-the-flap book) Class 10: Tokugawa Ieyasu Brings Stability to Japan (color, cut, and assemble a lift-the-flap book, a collection of facts about the Sengoku Jidai) Class 11: The Dutch Run the Most Successful Company in the World (color, cut, and assemble a puzzle) Class 12: England Starts Colonizing for God and Gold (color, cut, and assemble a lift-the-flap book)
