Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Ever since a kid, I have always been excited to explore and learn about a new country, culture, people. What made it more fun was how little I knew and so much I could learn in just a short time.
In my 60min session I plan to cover the above through the lens of an average 7-12 year old - where and how far am I from the destination, how long will be my ride there, who is the Prime Minister, how and where do I encounter India in my day to day life, how can I learn a few new words of this country's language, what does the country flag mean and look like, how do the people look, who were the great men and women of the country, what are the festivals I could add on to my calendar for more year around celebration, and lastly, what new dishes should I tell my mom/dad to make for me.

I would engage with my class on a LIVE video conference. I like to divide the time to introductions, identifying and discussing class objectives, learning games, facts, pictures. Colors at disposal will further brighten up the process.
Lastly, I would want to spend 5-7min to assess the learnings from the class with a fun rapid fire round for the kids.

Learning Goals

Surely kids will learn much about the history and culture of 1.2Bn people of India.
Also, it would be interesting to build a room to appreciate the differences that would broaden the horizons of the kids beyond the current space and time.

Born and brought up in India, I hold a deep understanding of the culture and lifestyle in the country. Though I had been a city girl in India, but my travels through the villages, love for food, and the many festive adventures have further rooted my knowledge and behaviour of the people.
My approach to teaching ensures the 65min class is no books. A fun engaging way to ensure maximum retention and application outside the classroom.
