Cults have fascinated people for centuries and have often led to dark moments in history. 
How can a leader or leaders convince a group of people to follow them? 
What did these leaders plan to achieve through their cults and through what methods? 
What motivated average individuals to completely change their lives and personalities to conform to these cults?

In this four-week course, we will examine four cults that have raised eyebrows and left a mark on history. We will explore the founders of these cults, their practices, beliefs, and how they came to an end. We will carefully examine what led people to follow these cults and the damaging impacts of these groups. This course is designed to teach students the history behind these cults and the aftermath of these groups. Each class will be guided by a slideshow presentation using images, video clips, and discussion questions to help us better understand these cults and their practices.
