During this 60-minute class, learners will sketch several different shaped crystals. They will understand how crystals are made up of geometric shapes and patterns. Each learner will watercolor a colorful crystal and will utilize highlights and shadows to capture a realistic image. This is a beginner course, so I encourage learners to ask questions and share their work so I can help them along the way. My goal is to make this a comfortable, fun, and interactive learning experience. Step by step instruction will be taught: To pencil sketch different crystals using basic geometric shapes The names of the different shape crystals To paint a watercolor crystal How to use a light source to create highlights and shadows in their watercolors Drawing and painting crystals can help kids: Understand shapes and lines Think outside the box Use their imagination Express their emotions and feelings Develop mobility skills Acquire hand-eye coordination We will discuss crystals, gems, and minerals while learners create their masterpiece.
