US Grade 4 - 7
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Does your upper-beginner level crocheter want to expand their crochet skills and explore the exciting world of amigurumi (crochet stuffed toys)? Join me for this fun and engaging 7-week course where learners ages 8-12 will learn to make 2 crochet stuffed animals, a penguin 🐧 and a turtle 🐢. We will learn the most common stitches used to make amigurumi, including the criss-cross "x" single crochet, magic ring, increase, decrease, and changing colours. We will then put these stitches into practice when making our amigurumi. This course is intended for upper-beginner level learners. Learners should already know the chain, slip stitch, and single crochet stitches before enrolling in this course. I have been crocheting for over 30 years! My mother taught me how to crochet when I was 8 years old, and I've never stopped. Crocheting is a wonderful way to release stress and anxiety, while being creative at the same time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CLASS BREAKDOWN: Each class will follow this format: 1. Introductions, get to know you activity (week 1 only, 5 minutes) 2. Show and tell for learners wanting to share their projects from the previous week (weeks 2-7, 5 minutes) 3. Lesson on this week's stuffed animal parts we are making this week (rest of class time) Please see the syllabus for a description of what we will be making each week. 🚨 NOTE: There will be no meeting of this class on Monday, October 14, 2024. It is Canadian Thanksgiving, and I will be celebrating with my family. Meetings will resume on Monday, October 21st, 2024.
