In this 4-week class, we will learn a new crochet stitch each week while sharing our projects with peers with the same interests.
Class experience
In this class, we will cover basic crochet stitches (chain, single crochet, double crochet) and intermediate crochet stitches (half double crochet, triple - or treble - crochet), how to use markers, and counting our stitches. When necessary a new stitch may be introduced. We will also join multiple pieces using the sewing techniques discussed. Students will learn the basic crochet stitches, intermediate stitches as needed, slip stitch, how to attach multiple pieces, and how to finish a crochet piece by weaving in loose ends. Students will also be able to discuss and ask questions with others who share a similar interest.
H (4.5 mm) crochet hook 8 ply worsted weight yarn (in the color of your choice - this is typical craft yarn) Stitch marker (these can be purchased or a safety pin or piece of contrasting yarn can be used)
There may be use of scissors or a sewing needle that a parent may want to supervise.
