In this Flex class, students will learn following stitches in crochet; chain stitch (ch); slip stitch (slst) single crochet (sc); double crochet (dc) and stitch ends together. In the video I will walk the students through how to start and complete each project, along with covering each stitch in that weeks project patter. The students are expected to have the PDF of the pattern printed out, along with the needed materials for that week, while they are following along with the video. I recommend students pause and work on what was taught then proceed with watching the video. The projects made in this class will be Week 1: washcloth; Week 2 scarf; Week 3: a hat; Week 4 review ). Students will learn how to read a pattern in this class. This class will build on each class before it adding new crochet skills to the lesson plan. Students will need yarn, either cotton or acrylic in worsted weight, crochet hook sizes G, H, I. I recommend the crochet hooks with a padded end as this is easier for students to handle. stitch markers, scissors, and printed pattern provided by the teacher. Parents are encouraged to be nearby to be available for help since teacher is not able to physically help students. The flex class will have all video posted in the classroom weekly along with the patterns, students are encouraged to pause and re-watch as much as they need too to learn these skills in knitting.
