US Grade 5 - 8
In one of my favorite Strange History classes of all time we go to two creepy places in history and dig into the people and history there: The Winchester Mansion and The Salem Witch Trials. Two topics which will truly enthrall and engage almost any learner, a lover of history or not! Class structure is a quick meet and greet time, followed by a PowerPoint class (where students mute their microphones), followed by a question and answer period! Class is typically around an hour long, but can go long depending on how many questions the students have at the end of the class, but you’re always welcome to leave when you need!

Parental Guidance
In the Winchester mansion we talk about paranormal beliefs of Sarah Winchester (though not in great detail) and also the deaths of the accused in the Salem Witch Trials.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
I utilize many books and websites when researching and cross referencing my classes. In this particular class I used books The Salem Witch Trials: A Day to Day Chronicle of a Community Under Siege by Marilynn K. Roach and The Winchester Mystery House: A Mansion Designed By Spirits by Cynthia Winchester Anderson. Websites often used are History.com, Britannica.com, the Smithsonian.com, along with other relevant sites for the topic.
