The focus of this class is to help learners to creatively have fun in their writing. The class will allow learners to venture off in their mind of wonders and excitement to build a world of the unknown through the craft of writing and exploration. The learners will have the opportunity to enjoy creating a world through their imagination. Day 1: The class will start with me sharing some creative writing pieces to the students to build capacity and excitement into the joy of writing. Then the students will brainstorm a few creative writing ideas and understand how to use a graphic organizer to put their ideas in a systematic order. This will help to develop their thoughts to formulate a sloppy copy of their assigned writing piece. HOMEWORK: Students are expected to select a graphic organizer to use to develop their thoughts and to work on their assigned 2-page creative writing piece. Day 2: The class will look at some additional creative writing pieces to explore more ideas and work on developing their conventions, brainstorm additional ideas and explore how to make connections with the plot, setting and characters in their stories. Homework: Students are expected to complete their writing sample to present to the class. Day 3: students will present their creative writing pieces to the class, which is their final copy.
