Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 12
Are you looking to nurture your child's inner author? Whether they're passionate about writing and looking for guidance, or they're a reluctant writer who needs some fun and motivation, these one-on-one tutoring sessions are ideal.

As a seasoned writer, I've had the honor of seeing my works featured in major publications such as McSweeney's, The Houston Chronicle, The San Francisco Gate, and the Arizona Republic. My experience also spans writing for television, film, and stage, and I'm thrilled to pass on this knowledge to your child.

My special focus is on humor writing, a skill I honed at the prestigious Second City's Conservatory Program. I firmly believe that humor can make any form of writing more engaging, relatable, and fun, a philosophy that I intend to instill in your child during our sessions.

In our one-on-one tutoring, I'll work closely with your child, helping them to explore their unique writing style, voice, and ideas. We'll explore various forms of writing, depending on your child's interests, from crafting concise short stories and persuasive essays to plotting engaging novels and scripting hilarious comedy sketches. Our journey through the exciting world of creative writing will be guided by fun exercises, story prompts, and engaging feedback.

By the end of our sessions, your child will have the skills to write creatively across various formats, articulate their thoughts and ideas effectively, and see the world through a writer's lens. They'll come away with improved writing abilities, a heightened sense of humor, and a renewed passion for expressing themselves through words.

Whether your child is an aspiring author, eager to enhance their school essays, dreaming of scripting a play, or just loves the magic of storytelling, this is an opportunity for them to learn from a published writer who knows how to make the journey of writing not just educational, but also entertaining.

Let's embark on this creative writing adventure together, nurturing your child's talents in a supportive and enjoyable environment. It's time to inspire, motivate, and challenge their writing skills. Enroll them today in our One-on-One Creative Writing Tutoring Session and let's bring their stories to life!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach classes related to comedy and humor including sketch comedy, improv, and satire writing.

I'm an improvisor, comedian, and writer who has written professionally for web series, comic strips, and satirical publications like McSweeney's. I've been fortunate to graduate from the Second City's renowned Conservatory Program. - with leading comedy actors and writers including Kevin McDonald of TV's The Kids in the Hall and the movie Lilo & Stitch.

I believe that comedy has the ability to improve skills like interpersonal communication and writing as well as boost students' confidence. Whether a learner is the "class clown" or someone who is a bit more quiet, I aim to create a learning environment where they can have fun, gain confidence and learn new skills.

I have a bachelor of arts degree and a master's degree in business.
