Class Experience
US Grade 5 - 12
The skills for writing sketch comedy will help any student, whether they want to be the next YouTube star, a Saturday Night Live Cast Member, or just want to improve their writing and communication skills. Students will learn how to write a comedy sketch from a teacher who trained at the legendary Second City Theater -- the same theater that has produced comedians and actors like Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, and Mike Myers. Students will learn the basic structure for writing a comedy sketch and together we'll write a short sketch each week. These classes will be learner-directed, with students determining what type of sketch we'll be writing.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach classes related to comedy and humor including sketch comedy, improv, and satire writing.
I'm an improvisor, comedian, and writer who has written professionally for web series, comic strips, and satirical publications like McSweeney's. I've been fortunate to graduate from the Second City's renowned Conservatory Program. - with leading comedy actors and writers including Kevin McDonald of TV's The Kids in the Hall and the movie Lilo & Stitch.
I believe that comedy has the ability to improve skills like interpersonal communication and writing as well as boost students' confidence. Whether a learner is the "class clown" or someone who is a bit more quiet, I aim to create a learning environment where they can have fun, gain confidence and learn new skills.
I have a bachelor of arts degree and a master's degree in business.
