Welcome to class, I'm so happy you're here! This ongoing course is designed for learners who love kittens and want to help them find their forever homes through creative writing! Writers of all abilities are welcome in this class, you just need your imagination! In this class, I will guide your child through the process of creating a fictional story featuring real kittens who are up for adoption! We will learn how to develop the main character based on the kittens' unique personalities, create a plot, and build a setting to engage readers and make them want to take the kitten home. You will also learn about the basic elements of storytelling, including story structure, character development, and dialogue. You will have the opportunity to brainstorm and write your own original story, with guidance and feedback from me and your peers. By the end of the class, your child will have a completed short story that showcases the fun adventures of kittens who are waiting to be adopted. Not only will they have honed their creative writing skills, but they will also have contributed to bringing attention to the amazing qualities of these babies and helping them find their forever homes. Right now, we are writing about 3 kittens born on Valentine's Day in a stray cat colony. 1. Butter Bean - They are the only kitten with a tail in this litter! They have black and gray fur and they love to meow as loud as they can! 2. String Bean - They have "swimmer's legs" which means their back legs do not function properly, but they still get around great! They have black and orange fur with no tail! 3. Chickpea - They are always napping and love to cuddle with their mom and siblings! They have black and orange fur with no tail! Their mom, Beans, already has a home waiting for her when the kittens are adopted! :) Come back next week to write another story and see how the kittens have grown!
