Description

Class Experience

Learning to make up stories in your head, and being able to write them down, can be challenging, and even experienced writers get writer’s block or have trouble in starting a new piece. In this class, learners are going to play with words, put ideas together in amusing ways, and bring writing into a format that is easy to access. Pieces will receive short feedback each day along the way, and by the end of this class series learners will have a fully formed and revised story.

Students will learn about the components of short story writing while they put them into action. By the end of the series they will have completed and revised a short work of fiction.

Each week learners will have a writing assignment that builds on the prior week's work.

Notebook/paper and pencil/pen. Handouts will be given, but printing them is optional.

55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
