Is it time to immerse yourself in a creative writing project that isn’t progressing as much as you would hope it would in the little fragments of your life?

In these uncertain times, it’s really hard to find time to write. Between school, summer jobs and babysitting, friends, family, sports, music lessons and more, our attention spans are short and our time to write even shorter.

Writing has many, many gifts for us in challenging times, so I invite you to spend 25 minutes per week with me to get that idea of yours onto paper once and for all. After a few sessions, you will be pleasantly surprised by how much you can actually get done in a short, but consistent moment each week!

This ongoing class is designed to guide you back to your own writer’s voice and to provide you with gentle prompts that will surge your narrative forward. The focus will be on gently waking up your creativity and asking it what it wants. We will spend much of the class together quietly writing. You can think of me as your writing accountability buddy. And I am here and available for any and all writing questions during our time together.

Some of the questions you may ask yourself during our sessions are:

Who am I in these strange times?
What stories want to spring forth and in what format?
What’s the first step to getting them on paper?
How do I create a regular writing practice when I’m always so busy?

Here are some of the writing topics we will be discovering together:

Week of July 8- Sensory Writing
Week of July 15 - Who is my Author Avatar?
Week of July 22 - Is this Topic Off Limits?
Week of July 29 - Writer's Block

Sharing writing in my classes is always at the discretion of the learner. Because of how personal writing is, learners may wish to keep their writing private.

Please note that upon registration for this class, you agree that I do not share recordings of classes for the privacy and safety of all learners.

I have 19 years experience working with teens with academics and creativity, whether it may be with sharpening writing skills, honing in on proper grammar, and even discovering one's true writer's voice. Literature studies are the backbone of any society and bridge the gap between distant and not so distant timelines, ethnicities, cultures, and moral values that propel humanity forward.
