What will be taught? Creative writing starting from the basics will be taught within this class. What topics will you cover, and when? In this 8 week course students will have covered the following: - Basics of creative writing - How to use the 5 senses when zooming in and out of a picture - Picture description - SPaG (Spelling, punctuation and Grammar) - Descriptive synonyms and adjectives How is your class structured? Usually the class starts with a quick introduction and recap on the previous class. During this time students are allowed to ask questions on things they may be struggling with and also may show homework they have completed. How will you teach? I like to ensure the classes are fun but educational - this allows students to feel comfortable within the classroom setting. I ensure all students are working at a pace that is suitable for them and if any students struggle I always ensure they have extra support where needed. What's your teaching style? My teaching philosophy is simple. I use a hands-on technique and am approachable to my students. I incorporate fun into my lessons when possible. And while my easy-going style is suitable for many subjects and grades, I am also able to adapt my style to the needs of the student. How much will learners get to interact with you and each other? I always integrate group work into my classes, this allows students to interact with each other, this allows them to build confidence and make friends! Group work will be added twice during an 8 week course - however students will always have the opportunity in every class to interact with each other! Is there any required experience or background knowledge that learners should have before enrolling? What is the pacing of the class? No. This class allows students to start from the very basics. How will your ensure that learners who enroll late into your class will feel welcomed and how will you bring them up to speed? Any latecomers will be caught up within the class, if in a group they will have the opportunity to speak to their classmates about previous work that has been completed. Any students who enrolled late will also have the opportunity to obtain a revision pack which will keep them up to date on whats been covered. Any other questions they may have will always be answered within the class.
