Beginner - Intermediate Level
This unit focuses on a comprehensive exploration of various watercolor techniques, designed for students to enhance their artistic skills and understanding of the elements of art and principles of design. Each class introduces a new technique, accompanied by self assessments and peer critiques, all aligned with the National Core Art Standards for Visual Arts.

Syllabus
16 Lessons
over 16 WeeksLesson 1:
Intro to Watercolor Painting
Students will practice utilizing basic watercolor materials and techniques. 50 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Exploring the Dry Wash Technique in Watercolor Painting
Students begin with the dry wash technique. The objective is to learn and apply this technique through a painting project that will be reviewed by peers. The instructor demonstrates th the method, emphasizing its differences from other techniques. 50 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Exploring the Wet Wash Technique
Continuing their exploration, students learn the wet wash technique. Similar to the previous class, they will create a wet wash painting, allowing them to compare it with the dry wash technique learned earlier. 50 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Exploring the Wet on Wet Technique
Students experiment with the wet on wet technique. They practice this method in a painting, enhancing their understanding through demonstration and hands-on experience. 50 mins online live lesson
