What's included

1 live meeting
35 mins in-class hours per week
Projects
I will do my best to complete a short communication of feedback after class with the Student and You (the Student's adult). Feedback consists of positive reinforcement for specific things done well and curiosity questions about why they made a choice and what they might do differently next time (aka what did they learn). Engagement beyond the art making reinforces learning and supports the Student voice and choice of this club.
Certificate of Completion
Upon completion of this club a certificate of completion will be received.

Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
Our art club will meet once on a week on Tuesdays from 9- 9:35AM (Central Time Zone) for 5 weeks. Each week we will make a new work of art connected to an Element of Art. My presentation time is 5-8 minutes, which allows the majority of the 35 minute time available to support students in making their art.

The projects we will be doing are:
January 7: Sculpt
January 14: Painting
January 21: Draw and Color
January 28: Cut and Paste
February 4: Build

I look forward to supporting and interacting with students through their preferred means of communication - whether that’s by video, audio or chat. A list of supplies and a schedule of lessons will be given to each family upon signing up.

I love the quote from Aristotle, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” That is why we focus on Student choice and Student voice in class. This way the mind and the heart are engaged with the learning.

When we are kind to ourselves our mistakes become sources of inspiration and an opening to a gateway of learning that no teacher, like myself, could ever teach. Also, I believe a positive relationship with mistakes reinforces the importance of student choice and student voice. Therefore my classroom motto is, “It is a gift to make mistakes. Everyday. Everyday. Everyday!”

When Students feel valued they are more likely to create work of value. And we (the home support, the teachers and students) all want work of value to be the outcome of this class and all educational opportunities. I will do my best to share a brief communication after each class with You and the Student.

We are all in this together.

So let’s go! Sign up now :)
