Creative Story Writing Ages 14-18
In this 8 week course, students are going to be learning the basic steps of putting together a fiction story. Students will first start learning the basics steps of creative writing.

This course is going to focus on learning the beginning steps of creative writing. Students will be learning about how to brainstorm, developing characters, inciting incidents, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. Once the students have gotten through learning and understanding the beginning steps of writing a story, the students will then write their own creative story by the end of the course. Each lesson will be posted on the Classroom. There will be a video of me teaching each topic we are focusing on for that week.

Brainstorming and Characters
This lesson will be about brainstorming ideas about your characters and what the students want the story to be about. Students will be practicing their brainstorming for when it comes time to writing their own story.

Setting and Plot
This lesson will be focusing on plot and setting. Students will be learning about what setting and plot mean. Students will be understanding how to identify setting and plot.

Lesson 3:
Rising Action and Climax
This lesson will be focusing on rising action and climax. These two are important to learn together because the rising action is what leads to the climax. Students will be learning how to identify what the rising action and climax is.

Lesson 4:
Falling Action and Resolution
This lesson will be focusing on the falling action and resolution. These two are important to learn together because the falling action is what leads into the resolution. Students will be identifying what the falling action and resolution is.
