Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
Beginner Level
In our art workshop, we’ll dive into a variety of exciting topics, including painting techniques, sculpture, mixed media, and even digital art. Each week, we’ll explore a different theme—like nature, emotions, or dreams—allowing you to experiment with different materials and styles.
Class Structure: Our sessions will typically begin with a brief introduction to the week’s topic, followed by a demonstration where I’ll showcase techniques and tips. After that, you’ll have plenty of time to create your own pieces, with me circulating to provide support and feedback.
Teaching Style: I believe in a hands-on, encouraging approach. I’ll guide you through each process while fostering an environment where questions and exploration are welcomed. Expect a mix of direct instruction, peer collaboration, and plenty of opportunities for you to share your work and thoughts.
Interaction: You’ll have ample interaction with me throughout the class! We’ll have short lectures to kick off each session, followed by guided practice, and individual or group critiques. I’m here to help you find your unique artistic voice and ensure everyone feels supported in their creative journey. Let’s create something amazing together!

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
The kind of classes I'll be teaching are Pre-K Circle Time, Sewing 101 Beginners, Screen Printing, and Cooking With Me. Over the last eight years, I've worked professionally with age groups ranging from pre-K to Fifth Grade. Currently, I work as a Fifth Grade elementary teacher, teaching all core subjects Monday-Friday. My core subject of choice is English Language Arts, which I believe applies to every other core subject. I have an undergraduate in Fine Arts and a Masters in Education. I'm a mother of two little girls I adore. I teach with understanding, meaning I've learned that the systems approach to learning can be challenging for our young learners. It makes them frustrated, overwhelmed, and defeated. As a teacher, I've learned to administer lessons in a variety of ways. My favorite quote is, " No significant learning can occur without a significant relationship." Something fun and personal I'd like to share is I love writing children's books. It's something I've always enjoyed, currently I'm in the process of publishing my very first one! Thank you for your time. -Mrs.Fielding
