Class Experience

The concept of "value" (the lightness/darkness of a color) is emphasized in this drawing course. We will focus on using shading to add multiple values, creating depth in our drawings. We'll cover several drawing/shading methods including stepped and gradient value scales as well as drawing from observation. Starting out with some practice shading work will ease students into a final drawing at the end of the course. Students will learn in a no stress, interactive, encouraging environment. No previous drawing experience is necessary.

Learning Goals

•	Create the illusion of space in a drawing through the use of value/shading
