Learn how companies create logos and slogans to help sell products. The use of color and text in popular marketing campaigns will be discussed. Students will create a logo and slogan for new/existing product or their own business

Class experience

Student will learn fundamental concepts of marketing and marketing art.  This includes color, font, form, emotional appeal and target market, product image, and product benefits.
As a tenured, certified, Business Teacher I've taught many marketing classes to students.  As a former art student  I have enjoyed introducing students to the way art is used in the fields of advertising and marketing.  It's always very popular and kids love to learn about logos and slogans by discussing popular examples and then creating their own.  It's all about communication and creativity, two important skills for students to practice. Whether you are interested in fine arts, starting a business,  or working as a creative for one, this class is a fun way to learn how to use art to market products and services.

Based on my extensive experience teaching this subject, I know how to make it interesting and fun.  Students will be talking about their experience in this course for a long time!!
Homework Offered
Students will come to Class 2 with a their creative marketing art completed. The specific product category will be provided by me at the end of Class 1). All creative work will be done at home by hand or on the computer. This is an art class with a business focus and will introduce how art and design are used in the fields of advertising and marketing. We will focus our discussions on what the art communicates to potential customers.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

Students can use any art supplies they have at home ( large piece of white drawing paper. colored pencils, crayons, markers, etc.) or computer software available to them.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
