Hello everyone! I am so excited to learn with you! During this animal science class, we will learn about the characteristics Arctic animals have and what kind of food source and shelter they must have in their habitats in order to survive! We will start with an interactive classroom lesson using “Nearpod” which uses engaging learning tools like taking a class “poll”, “draw it activities” and “collaboration boards”. After the classroom lesson, students will be given time to pick their own arctic animal and create a habitat for them either by doing the "Draw it" feature on Nearpod, drawing on paper or using materials they have on hand. They will label things in their habitat and then we will have a class show and tell to give learners the opportunity to share what they learned and created!
Learning Goals
Students will learn about animal habitats, specifically Arctic habitats, and create their own habitat to show understanding of what kind of things must be in a habitat for Arctic animals to survive.

I am a certified K-6 teacher with my bachelors in Elementary Education from University of Central Florida. I have been a 2nd grade classroom teacher for 2 years and completed my internships in Kindergarten and 5th grade classrooms. I have a reading endorsement and an ESOL endorsement. Besides teaching in the classroom I have also taught/coached in other areas that I’m passionate about. I was a level 8 competitive gymnast and coached kids after retiring from the sport and I was also on my college’s equestrian team (horseback riding) and taught horseback riding as well!
