Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from The Master’s College
After teaching for 10 years, I am a firm believer that knowing the "why" of what one is learning helps students to be motivated and maintain interest in abstract concepts as those found in science. Problem based learning (PBL) has changed my perspective on learning and I weave different problems into my curriculum to show the practicality and the importance of the subjects that I teach. I am currently a high school science teacher and I have taught all of the basic subjects ranging from biology, chemistry, physics, and anatomy and physiology. After pursuing the medical field in my undergraduate, I took a gap year and landed a teaching job right out of college and have not looked back since. Teaching during the COVID lockdown was a challenge but has expanded my teaching abilities and has given me experience in flipped classroom teaching, teaching online, and teaching hybrid classes. In my free time I enjoy playing and coaching chess, soccer, and also enjoy shelling (hunting for shells on the beach) and snorkeling with my family. I can't wait to meet you soon!
